The Animal Shelter Advisory Board ensures the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter complies with all City and State laws governing its operation.

Good Afternoon Ms. Feary,
The requirements and information for serving on the Animal Shelter Advisory Board are:
1. The Board consists of one licensed veterinarian who practices in Georgetown, one county or municipal official, on person who had duties regarding the daily operation of an animal shelter, one member of an animal welfare organization, and three citizens-at-large
2. The Citizens-at-Large may reside either in the city limits or the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown
3. Board members must attend all the training sessions/meetings related to their duties
4. Terms of office are two years with the maximum of two consecutive terms allowed
5. Currently the animal shelter board meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6pm, but this is subject to change as needed.
